One month of 2018 is almost over! Which means more more month closer to springtime! I may have said this before, but January is usually a tough month for me. I get seasonal depression pretty badly and it usually occurs right before sundown each day. Lately to combat this I've been meditating, eating better (cut out sugar completely) and focus of being in the moment while I paint. All of these things are helping me little by little to get out of my head and stop over thinking.
That is one reason why I'm doing this challenge, is to shut off my brain each day. Painting a random object may seem a little weird, but it's really helping me focus on something other than my anxious thoughts. What do you do to help with your anxiety?
What I've said above kind of relates to how I chose this week's theme, which is the desert! Lately I've been seeing and coming across so many references to the desert and Arizona/Nevada. There's something calling me to that direction and I want to take a trip there very soon.
Now the moment you have been waiting for... here are this week's prompts!
Week 5 Prompts - 365 Days of Color Challenge
January 28th - Succulent
January 29th - Cactus Plant
January 30th - Camel
January 31st - Dinosaur Skull
February 1st - Lizard
February 2nd - Dinosaur Skeleton
February 3rd - Armadillo
I invite anyone who would like to participate in this challenge! If you are a painter, illustrator, water color artist or doodler; you are welcome to join in for this week or just a couple days. I think that the main goal of this challenge, besides filling the world with crazy colorful stuff, is to inspire other artists to complete art every day. Even if it's just one brushstroke, a couple doodles or planning your next piece.
If you do participate, message me! I'll feature your artwork on my next recap!
Let's be creative and fill this world with vibrant art!
